Player of the Week

Class Giver Award:  Dereck Williams
Dereck provided the Dream Team with cupcakes.  This allowed us to freely donate our candy to our UPA Ellen Thompson Family!

Dear Dream Team Family,

Dear Dream Team Family,

Last week was such an awesome experience.  Our team grew to new heights.  We made very significant gains on our voyage to a winning season.  We tackled some concerns with our attitudes toward greatness.  We also pledged to be Drug Free in celebration of Red Ribbon Week.  I want to give a special shout-out to all of the Dream Team for their selfless act of voting to donate our class’ candy to the school for trick-or-treating.  We decided it was more important to the younger students to experience trick-or-treating.  It just so happened that we only had to donate a portion of our candy.  We still had candy left over to share with each other.  I think we learned something about team-work.  I trust everyone’s weekend was safe and fun.  See you at practice.

Coach Robinson

Next Week's Practices

Hello All,
I am happy to announce the Dream Team is 1-0 on our quest to a winning season. We have pulled together to display our best. The team is working hard to meet all of our milestones. Next Thursday, we need to have our visual aids for our interest projects finished. I know how much our all stars are looking forward to Fun Friday. So, I wanted to give all of the parents the game plan. I will send out a sample of what the visual aid should resemble with the team by Friday. I will also provide a demo for them in class. If the players do this over the upcoming weekend, it will be easier for us to move on to our next goal. On another note, I will be posting a weekly newsletter. This will be a way for everyone to know what is being learned in the Dream Team class.

Looking For The Win,

Mr. Robinson

Dear Coach,

Today I read Freedom Crossing. On page 44: Martin and Bert was looking out the window and they saw dogs barking at a house. On page 45: Laura open a door of a tall cabinet that stood against the south wall.On page 46:Bert said it's alot of slaves hunters in Canada said Martin. On page 48:Laura stared arguing with Bret about monsters.

From Ryan Henderson,

Dear Coach,

Today I read the book "Miracle's Boys". I found a few events that lead me to my prediction for the next few pages. One of my events for page 22 was this, Charlie/ New Charlie [thats what his brother, Lafayette, calls him after he came back from Rahaway. Lafayette narrates the story] and Aaron leave to go somewhere. New Charlie is a gang-like person now, he used to be sensitive and fond of animals. But, after he came back from Rahaway, he changed. Lafayette went to the family room to watch T.V. Lafayette starts to talks about the past and how he saw her in the kitchen. He asks, "Can you make chicken for dinner   tonight." Lafayette blinks and she's gone. Lafayette then explains and gives me a picture of where he lives at. He talks about where his room is. He then says his brother [not New Charlie] is now in his mother's old room. Momentarily, his big brother walks up the stairs. That concludes my events.
